Every year, our Travel Retail Europe team does something that no amount of video calls can replace: we get in a room together. Our colleagues from nine countries converge on Basel, Switzerland — the heart of our operations — for a few days of business, connection, and a little adventure.
This year’s edition, held in early June 2026, brought us together at a moment when the travel retail landscape is moving fast — shaped by shifting consumer behaviour, evolving market dynamics, and new commercial opportunities across our European network.
Business First
At the core of our meeting days is always a structured business review: performance across all six of our categories, year-on-year comparisons, portfolio updates, and a forward-looking conversation on priorities for the rest of 2026.

Then, the Rhine Falls
After our sessions wrapped, we made our way to the Rhine Falls — Europe’s largest waterfall — for a boat ride along the Rhine River, followed by dinner at a restaurant perched high above the falls with panoramic views across the Swiss countryside. The kind of evening that stays with you.

The group photo we took beside the Rhine Falls — is a better summary of who we are than any organisational chart. This is our most international team, in the same place at the same time. And that, more than any strategic document, is what keeps us moving in the same direction.
And Then, Europa-Park
The third day brought a different kind of energy — and a wider group. Our warehouse colleagues joined us for a full day at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, one of Europe’s largest theme parks. It was a deliberate choice: the Meeting Days are not just for the commercial team. They are for everyone who makes Weitnauer work.

Exploring the park together, sharing lunch in the German Quarter, and ending the day with a group dinner — it was a fitting close to three days that moved seamlessly between business and the kind of shared experience that builds something longer-lasting than a strategy document.
